At a QAnon rally in Dallas today Trump lawyer Sidney Powell told the cheering throng of Gullibles that Trump could simply be "reinstated" as President. “He is simply reinstated and a new inauguration date is set and Biden is told to move out of the White House,” declared Powell.
Former Director of National Intelligence, and now felony pardonee, Mike Flynn also addressed the crowd, assuring them that Donald Trump won both the popular and electoral college votes. These are the lies that resulted in one attempted insurrection already. As I warned then, a failed insurrection without consequences is simply a training exercise for the next on. Today's GQP certainly seems Hell bent on fomenting another.
The so-called "For God and Country Patriot Roundup" charade hosted by QAnon in Dallas isn't done and more whackadoodles are to come. Lin Wood, whose State Bar Association is questioning whether he is sane enough to retain a license to practice law, is scheduled to speak soon. Some of things he said to call his sanity into question include that Jeff Epstein is still alive, and that Mitch McConnell and Speaker Roberts are part of a satan worshipping cult involved in raping and murdering children. He claims video of their involvement has McConnell and Roberts being blackmailed. Oddly, no such video has materialized.
Another featured speaker to this confab of whackadoodles is Representative Louie Gohmert. You see, the Republican Party views QAnon as a legit movement.
Setting up the Memorial Day Weekend, future sex trafficking indictee Matt Gaetz took the opportunity to suggest to a pack of frenzied followers that they murder Silicon Valley workers. Gaetz declared that: "Silicon Valley can’t cancel this movement, or this rally, or this congressman. We have a Second Amendment in this country, and I think we have an obligation to use it.” This came on the heals of Gaetz stating that “The Second Amendment is about maintaining, within the citizenry, the ability to maintain an armed rebellion against the government."
For the record, Gaetz's understanding of the 2d Amendment is precisely backwards to reality. One purpose of the 2d Amendment was so that the government could call forth an armed citizenry to quash insurrections. Gaetz's "armed rebellion against the government" is what our Constitution calls "treason." Of course there was a time when Republicans viewed treason as a bad thing. Not so much anymore.
