As former President Obama stated recently, the bug-a-boo that is currently befuddling the White-Wing isn’t the economy, or climate change or further distribution of the Covid vaccine — it’s “Critical Race Theory". Here on Fux and Friends, the hosts argue that teaching our children about America’s Racist history and repeated crimes is going to “Marginalize" White people.
Hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade expressed angst while discussing the possibility that schools are teaching "critical race theory," a term that they did not define.
"They're not acknowledging any improvement in our culture, the gains made, how we are more equal, even despite our faults, than any other country," Kilmeade said. "The other thing is they are not only trying to raise up minorities and make sure the playing field is even, they're trying to take down the white culture.”
"We've seen the enemy and it's white people and they wonder why people have a problem with it!" [Kilmeade] exclaimed.
Actually, this effort is accurately documenting white culture, warts, blemishes and all. It's the truth, it's history but it's also the ugly present that some people don’t want to admit, that some people don't want anyone to acknowledge, that some people don't want anyone to correct.
Slavery, the failed Reconstruction, Share-cropping, Jim Crow, Segregation, Voter suppression, Red-Lining, Lynching, Terrorism, Murder, ongoing Discrimination in Housing, Employment and Lending, young unarmed black men being beaten and murdered in the street like dogs.
Just because you make something a crime or a civil tort, doesn't mean that it stops happening. Murder is a crime, people still do it. Theft is a crime, people still do it. Racism is now (sometimes) a crime, and yet people. still. do. it.
All of these things are part of America's past, and also its present and future. Knowing this is not a threat, it's not an attack -- it’s the truth. The truth can only threaten you when you’veconstructed your world based on fiction, based on a lie.
The truth, of course, is that none of this is regularly taught to school children. They are not usually regaled of the horrors of the middle passage. They aren't taught about the Lost Cause. They are not taught of the marauding murder of the KKK across the South for over a Century. They also aren't being taught "Critical Race Theory" which remains an academic pursuit that is part of graduate school analyzing how race and the law have intersected.
Earnhardt tried to argue that children should be taught Bible verses instead of racial history.
"It's pretty simple what most families in America are teaching their kids and that's the Golden Rule, to love others as yourself," Earhardt opined. "Don't see people for skin color. We look to the Bible in my house. We love everybody. Everyone was created by God and we live in this great country where you can be anything that you want to be and you can be an individual."
Besides the Golden Rule, and the fact you need to know what’s in someone else's shoes in order to put yourself into them, what is also in the Bible is the story of the Israelites who were enslaved by the Egyptians until God intervened and brought them freedom where they wandered in the desert for 40 years. That story was a major inspiration for the Abolitionist moment, maybe Earnhardt could learn something from it.
"They're trying to lump them in a group based on race," she added. "I want my daughter to be autonomous. She can stand on her own two feet. She can be an individual and be exactly who she wants to be and using the desires that God has given her for a bright future."
Yeah, a lot of black people wanted that too - they just didn't' get it. They still — to this day - aren't getting it. Basically, she's complaining that she doesn't want her white child treated like she’s a "minority." She wants her to continue to believe all the lies of egalitarian self-determination that white supremacists tell themselves to justify their privilege as being "earned.”
These people are afraid of knowledge. They are afraid of information, they want their children to remain in ignorance.
Then Doocy tried to prove that “racism is over" because Barack Obama happened — which is the stupidest argument on Earth.
"It was just a couple of years ago where the United States of America elected an African-American as president of the United States," he said. "You know, the biggest entertainers, the biggest sports stars are African-Americans."
Just because some people have succeeded doesn't mean that they did so without facing resistance. Obama was elected but many people voted against him and they did so for clearly racist reasons. They falsely claimed he wasn't even an American. They falsely claimed that he "paled around with terrorists” [ignoring the fact he had nothing to do with any of that activity 20 years previously and all charges were dropped against the former Weathermen because of gross FBI misconduct so there was no prosecution], they said he was a Black Christian Radical, they said he was Muslim, they said he was a Marxist, they said he was a Racist.
Barack Obama is the opposite of a good example of how "America is no longer racist.”
It's amazing how they think the only thing that can be learned from White people's history is that "white people suck.” That's simply not true. White people were part of the Underground Railroad and the Abolishonist movement. White people who were against Slavery formed the original Republican party, funny how they seemed to have forgotten that. Lincoln himself was in fact, a racist who thought white people were superior to blacks, but he also felt that Slavery was wrong.
Most whites throughout the country held views of racial superiority over blacks. Public discourse of the period justified these racial constructs with biological, religious, legal, social and political rhetoric. Race determined the opportunities available to people in antebellum America, and only a small number of white individuals — such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Charles Sumner, John Brown, and William Lloyd Garrison — envisioned, to varying degrees, a free society that included blacks as the legal, political and social equals of whites. At no time in American history had political and legal institutions recognized blacks as fully enfranchised citizens.
That racial reality is the context in which Abraham Lincoln lived, practiced law and politics, and served as president of the United States. Given this, it is necessary to recognize the enormous odds blacks faced in a society seemingly dedicated to the preservation of white superiority. It is equally important to understand how difficult it was for whites to endorse black freedom and equality. To be identified as an abolitionist or a proponent of black rights was not socially or politically expedient. In fact, it was often dangerous. The 1837 murder of Elijah Lovejoy in Alton, and the caning of Charles Sumner in the U.S. Senate in 1856 are only two sensational examples.
Not all White people were racist. Many fought, and died, for racial equality. White people were part of the NAACP who fought against Jim Crow and Segregation. White people were part of the Freedom Riders who demonstrated and gave their lives for voting rights. Many of them were also Jewish — the ancestors of the Israelites — who fought against segregation and inhumaity. Racist Southern Democrats actually rebelled and left the Democratic Party when Truman desegregated the military. They called themselves Dixiecrats and ran Strom Thurmond for President against Truman. After Goldwater rejected the Civil Rights Act the GOP adopted the Southern Strategy of Nixon to attract Dixiecrat “Negrophobe" Whites into the Republican party - and thus the still largely racist South changed from being mostly Evangelical Democrats to Evangelical Republicans. The party of Lincoln no longer reflects his values.
But they rather drown in ignorance. They rather drown their children, and your children, In ignorance.
Then again, this is according to plan. This is just one leg of the their larger cultural war.
Stay tuned for Part #2.
