It no longer surprises me what interesting articles I can find in the sidebar of the Accuweather website.
For some reason this was under the heading “Weather News.”
You can criticize a clickbait title but how else can you describe a headline that simply describes what is in a story and begs the scientifically curious to read it? I admit my choice of an illustration was meant to pique your curiostiy. The author, Mark Pulio, describes himself on LinkedIn as follows:
Write daily articles for AccuWeather.com covering breaking weather news, feature stories and recap stories about weather events. I also help post and schedule social media posts, cultivate story ideas and start the daily news cycle as the first journalist on shift.
Before coming to Accuweather in 2019 he was a high school track coach.
As far as I can tell he found the story in the press release he referenced:
All I can say about this is “move over, Mel Brooks, your 2000 year old man has nothing on these guys.”
