The Northern Pacific Depot Museum in Wallace, Idaho is in a chateau style depot. Included in the museum’s displays of the rich history of railroading in the area are several model train displays.
The Depot
Another model display shows the Northern Pacific Depot. This model was created from the 1901 blueprints on a 1:87 scale. The model depicts a scene from 1938 with people meeting the Northern Pacific train number 52 westbound from Missoula, Montana. According to the display:
“This beautiful building is perhaps the most modern building in Wallace and certainly the most outstanding symbol of railroading in the mining district. It is a focal point in Wallace.”
