The entire purpose behind massive push by the GOP in state after state they laughingly call “election integrity” is an open plot to deny the constitutional right to vote to blacks, poor, youth and other minorities.
Democrats have a black sheep in their ranks named Joe Manchin of West Virginia. Every democrat except for Joe knows that the excuse of “bipartisan” action on voting rights is a joke. (he probably knows that too but does not care)
#MoscowMitch has stated on the record his purpose in the senate is to block anything the Biden administration does. Period. That is not a stance from which there can be bipartisan compromise.
The GOP has a history of “negotiation” to weaken legislation then when they water it down to meet their demands they still vote against it. The party as it exists now does nothing in good faith.
No true patriot on either side would actively seek to deny citizens a constitutional right. The GOP does.
Since the GOP agenda with regards to constitutional right to vote is explicitly and overtly racist, anyone who supports their agenda is, de facto, a racist.
The declaration by Joe Manchin to refuse to protect minority voting rights places him squarely in the racist category.
The filibuster is not a tool the Republicans in the minority use to obtain bipartisan results, it is a weapon they fully intend to wield for the very PARTISAN goal of refusing those on the left from accomplishing ANYTHING AT ALL and in particular, blocking the democrat’s effort to counter the GOP voter suppression laws that they, in state after state are pushing with ZERO bipartisan input.
Filibuster: A “rule” by which the losers win and the winners lose...and America always loses.
Either Manchin is a traitor inside the democratic party or he is high on some kind of magic mushrooms that clouds his judgement as he evaluates the integrity of the GOP’s intentions toward the future of our democracy.
They have made clear their intentions across the width of our nation. “Blacks are inferior and any means to deny them their voice is justified”. By voting against protecting their rights he has agreed with the Republican’s anti-minority agenda.
On CNN:
“Joe Manchin has become the new Mitch McConnell,” Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) said on CNN on Monday. “Manchin is not pushing us closer to bipartisanship; he is doing the work of the Republican Party by being an obstructionist, just like they’ve been since the beginning of Biden’s presidency.” |
...to be clear this all or nothing obstruction began when Mitch declared on the eve of Obama’s inauguration to “make him a one term president” by obstructing anything he might do regardless of how good it was for America. The GOP has no interest in what is good for America...only in what they see as being good for themselves. This is what the Republicans think of bipartisanship. This is what Manchin thinks of bipartisanship too.
