Donald Trump thinks the GOP is on its way to “truly Make Virginia Great Again.”
In a recent statement, the former president said the numbers are looking good for Virginia Republicans, including Glenn Youngkin, the GOP nominee for governor.
We can’t let them win in Virginia. Virginians have rebuked Trump’s politics in election after election over the last four years.
Our gains have been significant, and because of that, we’ve been able to accomplish so much.
With the House of Delegates in Democratic control, we’ve been able to increase teacher salaries, expand healthcare benefits to more than 500,000 Virginians, raise the minimum wage, and more.
But our work is not yet done. I’m running to represent Virginia’s 25th District in the House of Delegates because I know we have more we can do. We need to enact the Virginia Green New Deal law, abolish so-called “right-to-work” laws, expand Medicaid to every Virginian who wants it, and build an economy that works for everyone.
We can’t let some Trump sycophants strip away all the progress we’ve made over the last four years. And more than that, we need to protect our Democratic majority in the House of Delegates, so we can build upon our accomplishments.
It all starts in the Shenandoah Valley, where I’m running for office. This is our chance to win the first rural Virginia seat for Democrats in decades.
It won’t be easy. Republicans will throw everything they’ve got at us to keep me from being elected.
But I’m not one to back down when things get tough. As a community organizer, I’ve taken on the fossil fuel companies, drug manufacturers, and the corporate gun lobby.
I can handle anything the Republicans throw at me, but I can’t do it alone. I’m going to need help to stay in the game.
This is when we decide to either win or lose. Let’s win. Let’s fight for Virginia. We can’t afford not to.
