By a vote of 69 to 30 our US Senate just passed the Infrastructure Bill.
www.senate.gov/…
I think the bill should of contained the following language:
“ANY STATE WHICH DID NOT HAVE AT LEAST ONE (1) SENATOR VOTE FOR THIS BILL SHALL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ANY FUNDS UNDER THIS BILL.”
Here is the list of the nine (9) states which had both senators vote against the Infrastructure Bill:
Alabama: Shelby (R-AL), Nay Tuberville (R-AL), Nay
Arkansas: Boozman (R-AR), Nay Cotton (R-AR), Nay
Florida: Rubio (R-FL), Nay Scott (R-FL), Nay
Indiana: Braun (R-IN), Nay Young (R-IN), Nay
Kansas: Marshall (R-KS), Nay Moran (R-KS), Nay
Oklahoma: Inhofe (R-OK), Nay Lankford (R-OK), Nay
Tennessee:Blackburn (R-TN), NayHagerty (R-TN), Nay
Texas:Cornyn (R-TX), NayCruz (R-TX), Nay
Wyoming:Barrasso (R-WY), NayLummis (R-WY), Nay
If these States and their Senators are really against this Infrastructure Bill they should refuse any money under it. We all know that they will not. Because Texas and Florida are our 2nd and 3rd largest states respectively they will probably get a lot of money under this bill. While I think it is a good idea to help, there should be some mechanism to show these states that their own Senators voted against the bill. Maybe at every project the sign that they post should show how their Senators voted?
I see lots of reasons why this language would probable be unlawful and why you would not want to start down this road even if you could — but I am kinda just making a point about their hypocrisy.
I am interested in how the poll goes and reading your comments.
Thanks for your time and attention.
