In an interview with Dana Bash at CNN that was aired Monday night, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed fears she would be raped during the 1/6 Capitol Riot if any of the insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol found her.
I am not condoning any kind of violence, but rather pointing out an unfortunate reality. Since Miss Ocasio-Cortez is a favorite target of the far-right and since far-right forums are said to be riddled with posts by insurrectionists describing sadistic dreams about raping Miss Ocasio-Cortez, I wouldn’t be surprised if any of the insurrectionists decided to have their way with her upon finding her.
I’ve written about my anger at being a constituent of one of the main instigators in the Senate (namely Josh Hawley, and how his efforts to justify his role in fomenting the riot nearly triggered a screaming-at-the-top-of-the-lungs temper tantrum). This revelation adds fuel to the question about whether that tantrum would have been justified. And since Hawley had a role in fomenting the insurrection, I contemplated investigating those far-right forums, and if I had investigated those forums, I would have taken screenshots of posts about wanting to do sexual violence to Miss Ocasio-Cortez and given them to local television stations so that I could expose Hawley.
