Being new to this wonderful DK community, I’m appreciating the grassroots power and seriousness of the long time users & activists. Thank you to the users who gave me all the great suggestions in my previous piece, especially the one who provided the title for this piece @NovaLand. I’m writing about Kecia Evans, a Democratic candidate for state delegate in Va. HD 88.
Virginia has elections this year. Early voting starts in less than a month. Virginia Dems just gained a 55/100 seat majority last cycle in 2019. We’d like to grow that majority. HD 88 is competitive. Keep reading to find out why.
According to this awesome Data compiled and provided by the @DailyKos Elections group, @DavidNir, we can see and expect to maintain most, if not all of our incumbent Democratic seats; but we'll also be able to pickup a few GOP seats if we work hard enough and bring out a wave of voters.
Check out the link to the DailyKOS Spreadsheet!
Which 9 GOP held districts appear to be the most competitive?
Of these 9 very competitive GOP held districts, Joe Biden won 5 and Donald Trump won 4. Three of these 9 districts don’t have an incumbent GOP candidate running for re-election. Here’s a link to VPAP page of the 100 house races up for grabs this November.
In one of these three open GOP districts, there are two Trump Republicans on the ballot; that district is HD88. One of the Republicans in HD 88 is running as a Libertarian. The 2 Trump supporting HD 88 candidates will split a large segment of the vote. A Democrat can win this seat. Kecia Evans is that Democrat.
Rather than blather on about how great Kecia is, (which I’ll certainly do in the days and weeks to come), I’m linking to her website, social media, and ActBlue, below. Please have a look.
Virginia Dems are lucky to have Kecia on the ballot in HD 88 this year. Virginia Dems have an outstanding opportunity to win big on November 2 of this year; but again, it will take all of us doing our homework. Let’s get it done !
