I just thought I’d throw this out there. This is a pretty strait forward article by The Hill talking about the impact vaccination hesitancy (to put it kindly) has on the economy, public heath, and well...those of us who have vaccinated.
Americans who refuse vaccinations are costing US big bucks as well as lives
For me, here’s the money quote the third paragraph in:
The medical, economic and financial welfare of 211 million vaccinated Americans is thus being threatened by the choices of 74 million eligible but unvaccinated Americans. Economists call such adverse spillovers “negative externalities.” Externalities arise when individuals fail to take into account the effects of their actions on other people.
The entire article is shareworthy, I think, for your friends and family who still refuse to get vaccinated.
It is pretty selfish of them.
