Sorry for such a short diary, but aside from Bernie Sanders going out to different regions of the country, what are the Dems doing to, you know, sell the reconciliation budget plan to, you know, the voters? The plan is to put it up for a vote in a few weeks, right? Bernie talks about getting grassroots support for it as a necessary element for passage and for any hope, however slim (i.e., likely impossible), for a Republican vote or two.
But maybe I’m just crazy to think it would be a good idea to flood the media and people’s mailboxes with clear messages and advertisements about what the package could do for them and that they need to contact their Congressional representatives and senators to vote for it.
Basically …
WHEN ARE THE DEMS GOING TO SELL THE RECONCILIATION BILL?
Because they aren’t (except for talking heads blathering about legislative process crap practically nobody cares about). Where’s the full court press, the all hands on deck, faces to the front, etc? You’d think since the Dems failed so miserably at selling Obamacare, they might have learned. So far, and time is quickly running out, it looks like they didn’t.

I see from many comments below that the Dems have nothing to sell yet because the bill is still in process. So what in hell is Bernie Sanders talking about on his “sales calls” out in the Midwest? At the least he’s talking about a bill that would put “the people” first for a change. Well, that would be a start. Prepare the ground. Or perhaps provide an outline of the kinds of things being considered that could affect people’s lives. But that might actually educate people and help set up the messaging (never a strong suit for the Dems). But, no, why bother? We got plenty of time … NOT.

I must apologize to those commenting below that we can’t sell what we don’t have. They say the bill hasn’t been finalized so we can’t advertise its features and benefits. But I’m not apologizing for myself. I’m apologizing for President Biden who did just that in an economic speech this morning. Shame on him. The critical part starts at 14:20 minutes in:
