Looks like God and the Angel Moroni have forsaken Captain Moroni of Jan 6th insurrection fame.
A Cottonwood man who took part in the Jan. 6 raid on the U.S. Capitol dressed in a gladiator costume meant to evoke Captain Moroni, a figure from the Book of Mormon, pleaded guilty Friday to a federal misdemeanor charge.
Nathan Wayne Entrekin admitted to parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol. He could face, under the plea agreement, a maximum sentence of six months in prison. Sentencing was scheduled for April.
Captain Moroni spent about 13 minutes in the Capitol Building. He was in there long enough to chant “U-S-A!” with the other insurrectionists and claim that the Capitol Building was “our house.” But he did take tourism pics on his cell phone.
You can see more of them from this FBI Criminal Complaint: extremism.gwu.edu/…
I cannot place the one really superb pic of Captain Moroni smiling for his cell phone, but you can see it in the news article or the FBI Criminal Complaint (page 18).
Sadly, Captain Moroni’s plea agreement was for one misdemeanor count. Accordingly, he will not get any more time than 6 months in prison. It appears that he is just a dumbass COS player insurrecitonist, so DOJ wants to move this off of their to do list.
I’m still waiting on what will happen with Riley Willaims (Nazi Girl) and Richard “Feet on the Desk” Barnett.
