The DOJ has been very close-mouthed about its investigations into the insurrection, only speaking up to announce indictments. This has led lots of people, including many here, to complain that Garland is avoiding going after Trump. That position lost some ground when he announced the indictment last week of the founder of Oath Keepers for seditious conspiracy — a very serious charge and one that knocked the legs out from under the right-wing screamers that it was just a tourist visit.
Now the New York Times has another glimpse of the end of the tunnel: Prosecutors Said to Have Asked About Trump’s Role in Jan. 6 Riot:
[O]n Tuesday, for the first time, evidence emerged in court papers that prosecutors have posed questions to at least one Jan. 6 defendant that were “focused on establishing an organized conspiracy” involving Mr. Trump and his allies to “disrupt” the work of Congress.

Last week, prosecutors filed a sentencing memo in his case, recommending that he serve four months of home detention. The memo noted that Mr. Straka had met with prosecutors earlier this month as part of his plea agreement and had been “cooperative” in answering their questions.
It remains unclear exactly what those questions were, but Mr. Straka’s lawyer, Bilal Essayli, offered a broad description in his client’s own sentencing memo, which was filed on Tuesday. In the memo, Mr. Essayli said that during Mr. Straka’s interview with prosecutors, “the government was focused on establishing an organized conspiracy between defendant, President Donald J. Trump, and allies of the former president to disrupt the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6.” [emphasis added]
There’s also a diary on the rec list right now: DOJ appears to be working its way up Jan. 6 chain of command to include Trump’s inner circle.
In other words, it’s looking like the juggernaut is getting ready to roll.
