I just went to CVS to pick up my insulin prescription.
Since I have an ExtraCare Card, I got a CVS-length receipt...you know, the receipts that are so long that they look as if they belong with the archives of scrolls in the book stacks of the ancient Library of Alexandria as opposed to my coat pocket.
Usually, I don’t pay these receipts any mind, although I’ve looked at them a time or two.
$2.00 off of this, $7.00 off of that, $4.00 off of this and I’m only talking about ¼ of the receipt that I have.
I have a week from today to use the coupons and...that’s simply not going to get done because...well, I don’t use CVS like that.
In fact, now that I think about it, I don’t use coupons much at all.
My Mom used coupons occasionally when I was a kid; occasionally enough that I remember that clipping them was like a family hour.
And I certainly saw the savings that Mom would get when we went to the grocery store.
I haven’t clipped one coupon in over 20 years.
Nowadays, of course, so much shopping for nearly everything, including groceries, is done over the Internet so I have received eCoupons and whatnot.
I do recall using a eCoupon a few years back for a pair of shoes...and I think that’s the last thing I used a coupon for.
Needless to say, I am not a rich man. (After all, I work for a non-profit organization and Daily Kos 😃!)
I feel like I should be using more coupons in order to save money but...I think that I still associate using coupons with the task of clipping and I know that is no longer the case, most of the time.
Are there any Top Comments denizens (and other commenters) that use coupons? How do I get in on the action?
Comments below the fold.

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.
