I live in Kansas City, Missouri. One of the races I will be voting on is the Jackson County Executive. The Kansas City Star has endorsed the Republican Theresa Galvin.
The incumbent, Frank White, a former Kansas City Royal has not been great. White did not meet with the Star editorial board. The Star wrote:
Frank White’s record over almost seven years is uneven and too often lackluster.
I wanted to find out whether Galvin is a Republican I could possibly vote for. I needed to know her answers to three questions. I asked her:
1) Was Joe Biden fairly elected in 2020?
2) If Trump runs for the Republican Party's nominee in 2024, will you endorse him?
3) If Trump is the Republican Party's nominee in 2024, will you endorse him?
I have received her reply.
Thank you for reaching out to me. The 2020 election has been decided and Joe Biden is our president. If investigators determine otherwise the federal government will handle it. I am running for Jackson County Executive and will fulfill my duties to the people of the county as assigned in our county charter. I have full confidence in the integrity of both our Kansas City and Jackson County election boards. I have never known of a Presidential candidate that was interested in an endorsement from a county level elected official. I hope this helps.
Here is my reply.
Your honest forthright non-answers to my questions are very helpful in making my decision for whom I will vote.
You must be aware there are Republicans all over the country, at all levels of government, who have acknowledged that Joe Biden was elected in a free and fair election and have said they will never endorse Donald Trump for re-election.
Thank you for taking time to answer my questions that go directly to whether we can remain a democracy.
It goes without saying that. however lackluster the Democrat is, no one who can not answer my questions directly should ever serve in an elected office.
Have you asked any Republican my three questions? What has been his/her response?
