"WE WON!!!! History was made tonight," Frost wrote on Twitter Tuesday night. "We made history for Floridians, for Gen Z, and for everyone who believes we deserve a better future."
Endorsed by big progressives like Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and the Confessional Progressive Caucus, Frost won his August primary in a crowded 10-candidate race of more experienced Democrats.
According to NPR, Frost first became an activist after the mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012. Before running for Congress, he served as the national organizing director for March for Our Lives, a group that advocates for gun control policy.
He even confronted Florida's Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis at an event over the governor's Second Amendment views after the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
Frost wasn’t the only Gen Z candidate for Congress this fall. Former Trump press staffer Karoline Leavitt, also 25, won the Republican primary in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District but lost the midterm to incumbent Democrat Chris Pappas.
We must get out the Democratic vote for Senator Raphael Warnock in the December runoff. Write heartfelt, personalized letters to Georgia voters with Vote Forward to turn them out again.
