A Dutch court has returned long-awaited verdicts today in the downing of MH-17 airliner over Ukraine back in July 2014, killing 298 people. The plane was hit by a Buk surface-to-air missile.
Three defendants who are not in custody — Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinski, Leonid Khartschenko — were convicted and one — Oleg Pulatov — was acquitted.

There was a big tank battle recently in a village just northwest of the city of Donetsk called Pervomaiske. While it was certainly no El Alamein, it demonstrates that tanks aren’t quite as obsolete as some have suggested in this age of Javelins, drones and other anti-tank weapons.

Ukraine isn’t taking any chances that an attack will be launched from Belarus. They have also blown bridges and mined the border.
