Good morning from the Rogue Valley in Oregon, where we have had a clear, cold, and windy week! I have been working on cleaning up the various pots and tucking things away into their sheltered spots for the winter. At the beginning of the week my bulbs arrived:
I got to planning where to plant these lovelies and have been working on that as I get stuff rearranged for the cold rainy months ahead. I also ordered some more grow bags:
I still have some hearty plants holding on with overnight freezing temps but I have trimmed back a lot of other stuff and put it on the metal rack in the corner. The wind has been stripping the leaves and branches off the weed/tree in the neighbors yard (it is a Chinese sumac) and they are all coming down in the back area off our patio. I raked them into a pile one day only to wake up the next morning to find just as many had fallen down again overnight.
Anyway. It is still windy and leaves are still coming down so I am just doing my best to sweep them off the deck and leave the ground area for the crew that comes through every week. It looks as if we are in for a whole week of clear skies with highs near 60 for Thanksgiving! The overnight lows though are much more in keeping with November in the high 30’s. Hope all those in the NE that are getting the lake effect snow are doing ok!
I am on Pacific time so as many here know I will be along later to chat and see what all is going on in your gardens! Please jump into the discussion in the comments and enjoy a nice fresh cuppa joe!
