Great news in Georgia for the U.S. Senate runoff: The Court of Appeals have allowed early voting the Saturday after Thanksgiving, which will make it easier for all Georgians to participate in this crucial election.
Early voting has long been used by Democratic constituencies to get out the vote, especially in Black churches where the “Souls to the Polls” initiative has been remarkably effective in past cycles. Meanwhile, Republicans have long sought to shut down early voting, and Georgia’s GOP secretary of state tried to argue that counties could not have early voting on Saturday because it’s right after Thanksgiving. But thankfully, the court disagreed.
To help Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock beat Republican Herschel Walker and strengthen Democrats’ Senate majority, we will have to combat a possible enthusiasm gap. While polls show that 75% of voters under 50 (who strongly support Warnock) are “extremely motivated to vote,” about 90% of voters over 50 (who prefer Walker) say the same.
Now, it is on us to make sure that they come out and vote. Let’s go!

Can't volunteer? Chip in $5 to help Daily Kos recruit more volunteers to get out the Democratic vote.
With MoveOn's Vote Tripling program, volunteers stand outside a polling place during early voting or on Election Day and ask people who just voted to immediately text three of their friends or family members and tell them to come vote. Now that early voting is happening on Saturday, we need volunteers in Georgia who are available to sign up for a shift ASAP.
This tactic of “vote tripling” has proven to be very effective in past election cycles because it combines positive voter psychology ("thank you for voting!") with relational voter outreach.
With less than 40,000 votes separating Sen. Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker in the Nov. 8 election, the Dec. 6 runoff will all come down to voter turnout. Spending a few hours talking to people who already voted—and helping them use peer pressure to get their friends and family to vote—can make a key difference in who wins the runoff. That's why we need your involvement in Georgia today.
Let’s do this!
Click here to sign up for a Vote Tripling shift with MoveOn—on Saturday when early voting begins, next week during early voting, or on Election Day, Dec. 6.
