Republicans have finally decided that voting early DOES actually matter, and they are starting to panic about the early vote numbers. Why are they getting scared? TargetEarly just updated, and this my friends is what a Blue Wave looks like:
Simon Rosenberg has been tweeting about this for a couple of weeks now, and he points out two things that we should keep in mind 1) Republicans and Unaffiliateds that vote early are far less MAGA than those who will only vote on Election Day (because TFG told them too). Meaning that some of these R voters could be the cross over votes that we’re expecting to see in places like PA, AZ, OH, WI etc. Same goes for the Unaffiliateds, they are Dem leaners who are sick of the MAGA bullshit. This means that our lead, which is massive, could actually be even larger than it is right now. 2) In so many places across the country, the republican early vote is down, or stagnant, with the exception of Florida, the haven of right wing nuttery. The MAGA-lite voters who always voted early (back when the R’s were the ones who dominated the early vote) just haven’t shown up and their numbers are virtually unchanged from 2018 — pre pandemic/trump lies about early voting.
Which begs the question: Where are they? If this were a red wave year, the wave would no doubt show up in the early vote, to some degree. We should be seeing at least a slight increase of early in-person voting, but we’re not. We should see some sign of it, especially in states that vote entirely by mail, and have for years. But guess what? It’s not there. At least not yet.
Here’s MAGA nutjob Kelly Ward encouraging people to vote early in AZ:
The replies to this tweet are truly hilarious. From confused MAGAs asking why she would use an evil drop box, to being heavily called out for her steaming hypocrisy.
Then there’s this jerk, Dick Morris, having a full-on meltdown:

I’ll spare you the click and give you the screenshot:
Notice this article is dated October 24th, Dick could already see the writing on the wall. More from the article:
He continues:
He goes on to rant about how stupid and shortsighted this strategy was, how the GQP has to expend more resources to GOTV in a HUGE way on Election Day and I don’t think they have much of a ground game going at all. They are relying on their so-called enthusiasm that doesn’t appear to be there. I live in a swing district that Katie Porter will win tomorrow, CA-47. If there was a red wave happening, there would be noticeable signs of it because there always is, not this time. I have yet to see a single sign for Katie’s opponent anywhere. No Trump rallies, no Trump 2024 flags, nothing. Overcoming giant early vote leads is very, very tough to do.
I have been musing out loud to friends and family, and anyone who cares to listen that there is NO evidence that the uber MAGAs who propelled TFG to victory in 2016 will show up when TFG is not on the ballot. They did not show up in 2018, because he was already in the White House, and, in my opinion, they felt their work was done, and they actually hate the rest of the republican party, especially those that they see as part of the ‘establishment’. Right wing Twitter has been having a hissy fit over a story published last night about Ron DeSanctimonious meeting with Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan, the most established of the establishment. Apparently, these two rejected losers are trying to push Ron and his white boots on the party as the more moderate, less offensive version of TFG. Thinking they can walk the line holding together the MAGA loons and old school R’s. The MAGA loons are not having it and are in quite a conundrum on who’s side to take in the Trump/DeSantis battle. Disarray indeed. I have serious doubts about the hard core MAGA’s turning out without TFG on the ballot.
Meanwhile, in the real world, where the normal people exist:
And of course, the media is hot mess. I think we can agree that the coverage of this midterm election is by far the worst it’s ever been. They should all be so embarrassed.
Notice the poll in the story is showing Dems up by 5 freaking points, yet the headline claims voters are ready to ‘blame Dems’ for economy. What? What the actual F is this? Then we have MSNBC, the only cable news channel that at least seemed to be not entirely in the tank for the republicans doing straight up product placement ads for RCP and their almighty polling averages. It’s disgraceful and unwatchable.
Expect this kind of bullshit tomorrow night as well:
And on a final note, I’ve been saying this a lot and trying to get people to understand something really important about the issue of abortion. A lot of women, especially more conservative women in conservative places like Ohio don’t talk about it. They won’t say the word out loud, ever. Women will not tell a pollster that this is their #1 issue, not on the phone and especially not on live TV to some reporter while sitting in coffee shop surrounded by their peers.
This tweet was in response to the exit poll question and the ‘...other things’ that she is talking about, that thing is abortion. Mark my words. Women are pissed and scared. Women of ALL ages, which is another thing the male punditry does not understand. It doesn’t only matter to young women. Women over 70 already fought this battle and are old enough to remember what is why like before, and how many women died, they are livid. Women under 70 are worried about their daughters and granddaughters. Younger women are worried about their own bodies and none of us are ok with being treated like incubators in some dystopic Handmaids Tale GOP pro-rape fantasyland. Uh, hard pass on that. It affects us all. Do not be surprised to see the gender gap explode tomorrow as hundreds of thousands (millions?) of republican women vote for the Democratic candidate. This issue is the line in the sand that the republicans should never have crossed. Do not underestimate how big of a deal this is. It does not fade into the background because of gas prices or inflation, that is not how this works. That is incredibly insulting to women to even suggest. We will turn out, we will, once again save Democracy, I am sure of it. We won’t win them all but will are definitely not getting wiped out as the media wants you to believe. There are more of us than there are of them, that is why they try to keep us down. It’s not working. I’m sure of that.
Good luck out there, stay positive and know that we are on the right side of history and humanity. We worked harder than I’ve ever seen Dem’s work before, and we are unbelievably united. I’m damn proud to be a Democrat and I believe that we will prevail. Take a deep breath...we got this.
