I just watched a live feed of the Cochise County Superior Court hearing on the two lawsuits against the Board of Supervisors (“the Board”). The Board just hired an attorney this morning to represent them. That attorney was not present, but a Motion for Continuance until “sometime” next week was made, so that the Board’s new attorney could “get up to speed”.. The Judge denied that motion, saying this case will be decided today. There were two lawsuits filed against the Board, one from the AZ Secretary of State, one from the Alliance of Retired Person. The Judge consolidated the cases into one.
After a brief recess recess the Judge ordered the Board to meet today at 3.30pm, and set a deadline of 5:00pm for the Board to certify the election and transmit that to the Arizona Secretary of State..
Supervisors (D) Ann English and (R) Peggy Judd were in the court, Supervisor (R) Tom Crosby was not.
EDIT: Hat tip to Pogoatty for pointing out that Tom Crosby was present for the hearing, I missed that was him sitting alone at a desk, while Judd & English were sitting together further back.
And you can follow a live feed of the Board meeting at 3.30pm here: teams.microsoft.com/…
UPDATE: Supervisor Tom Crosby sent a text message that he would NOT attend the meeting. Supervisors Peggy Judd and Ann English were present, and both voted to certify the election.
The Cochise County General Election of Nov. 8 2022 has been certified and sent to the Secretary of State office!!!!
