Update on the situation between Russia and Ukraine
Putin met with his National Security Council to formally recognize the separatist-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine as sovereign republics.
After the Security Council meeting, Putin delivered a dark and sinister rant on live TV to his people to explain his position on Ukraine which, according to him, was artificially created by Bolsheviks and Vladimir Lenin and therefore, has no right to exist today.
Together, the recognition of Ukraine’s separatist areas as independent and Putin’s ominous speech clearly laid the groundwork for Russia to enter the area and take de facto control of it. It appears they’re wasting no time doing so.
Le Monde is now reporting: Vladimir Putin orders the Russian army “to keep the peace” in the separatist territories of Ukraine
American writer, Christopher Miller, reporting from Ukraine, tweeted the official documents ordering troops to the separatist territories.
Miller also reports that eyewitnesses in the region say they’re seeing armored vehicles rolling in.
Another source, The New Voice of Ukraine, an independent outlet that publishes in English also reports: Putin orders Russian army to enter Ukraine’s Donbas 'to support peace' english.nv.ua/...

President Zelensky addressed the Ukrainian people. The OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) cited in the tweet has been on the ground conducting a Special Monitoring Mission in eastern Ukraine since 2014. It’s their job to monitor for ceasefire violations pursuant to the Minsk Agreements. They released a statement calling Putin’s actions today “a breach of international law.” www.osce.org/...
