OBOZREVATEL is reporting that 5,000 contract servicemen -not conscripts, professional soldiers- rioted in the Belgorod region of Russia, which is right across the border from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.
About 5,000 contract soldiers, who were hastily collected to be sent to Ukraine, refused to go to fight for Putin on the territory of our state.
Formally, the rebellious contractors argue their refusal to participate in hostilities in Ukraine by the fact that this is not provided for in their contracts.
I don’t believe this has been reported or confirmed anywhere else but if true this is really bad news for Vlad. More than 3500 Russian troops have been killed in less than 3 days of action in Ukraine and the Russian rank and file and even officers have no idea what they are doing in Ukraine.
Captured Russian Major:
Another Russian Major:
This Chechen General and a Chechen motorized regiment of 56 tanks were destroyed. It’s being reported, the Chechen leader and war criminal loyal to Putin, Ramzan Kadyrov knew about the planned invasion even before the Russian generals. The generals were told about a week ago and were not happy about it. A complete clustf@#k.
It’s been pointed out in the comments that this video is from 2014 — not the current conflict. I’ll leave it, for now, to show the potential effectiveness of Molotov cocktails in urban warfare. I’ll look for a current video as well.
Advanced weapons are streaming into the Ukrainian military. The French Foreign Legion is allowing leave for Ukrainian Legionnaires to go to Ukraine to fight and take their full combat gear with them. Foreign volunteers, Chechens, Azerbaijanis, Byelorussians, Syrians, and others are also fighting or on their way to fight alongside Ukrainian forces. The major cities have all repulsed Russian advances. There is something seriously wrong with the Russian military. It has never been tasked with an operation this ambitious and they have completely failed to perform anywhere near the minimally acceptable level. Whether or not the report of a riot of Russian soldiers turns out to be true Putin’s army is not the army Putin thought he had. It’s leadership is looking laughably incompetent. But then the fish rots from the head.
The Russians are likely to stage a major push into Kyiv soon to accomplish what they failed to do in previous attacks but they still seem to be hobbled by supply line problems, gross incompetence, poor intelligence, poor morale, and poor planning. Each day Ukraine survives against all odds is a great victory for democracy and truth.
Слава Україні! Героям слава! ("Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!")
UPDATE: Russian soldiers who don’t want to fight their Ukrainian brother's surrender.
