More and more articles are being published in “MSM” talking about various benefits of the CBD component of cannabis. This one is from 2 Feb regarding recent research around cannabis and covid:

Full disclosure: I am not a doctor or a researcher and have no standing in any scientific community. I do have brains and an intellect for critical thinking, and started taking responsibility for my own health about 50 years ago. That entails paying attention to medical science, reading articles and scientific papers from trusted sources, and understanding the implications for my personal health considering my family background, genetics etc. I take good care of myself, to the point where my health providers know that when I call on them, it’s serious.
A couple of years ago (long story short) I was plagued by bouts of nausea so bad I couldn’t eat, and hunger so bad it made me sick, ad nauseum. Mother Nature is my first go to for remedies, both in my efforts to stay away from the medical establishment and since she’s all humans had to rely on in our pursuit to multiply our species. I choose carefully, and over the years I’ve learned what works for me and what’s a waste of money. Ginger is amazing at treating the nausea when it starts, but nothing got rid of it entirely or prevented it coming on. (And yes I use pot which really helps, just not with the nausea!)
The Nurse Practitioner looking after me finally, in desperation, suggested CBD oil. They connected me with a licensed cannabis clinic and a specialist NP explained the protocol and registered me with a Health Canada licensed medical cannabis supplier. There’s a strict protocol around the dosage schedule which I followed to the letter. A few weeks later, I had a craving for pizza & cesar salad, I ate everything and relished that meal. Then I realized: I wasn’t nauseous, I was content, my hunger was satisfied for the first time in a long time. I was so happy and it’s been working for me ever since.
The upside of CBD oil for me is it tames my nausea and my appetite is almost back to normal. The downside is, it’s not a cure. Every so often if I run out or try cutting back, the nausea returns. So, much like folks on BP meds for the rest of their lives, it looks like I could be on CBD oil.
So, if I read that Salon article right, the CBD should also give me extra added protection from Covid. I haven’t had Covid yet, so is it the CBD, the triple-jabbing, the double-masking, or the social distancing? Taken all together, I feel pretty safe from Covid, especially when I put the “self” in self-isolation!
