The time change has never bothered me much, but I do understand this is something of a rarity.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

The Zapotec inscription on a 1300-year-old frieze in Mexico has been deciphered. Or translated, if you will.

My friend whose birthday party I missed last weekend has an adopted son who is due to graduate high school in a few months. My friend is worried about his son’s relative lack of maturity. I have, for many years, described the relationships with my college friends (with considerable accuracy, I believe) as “we were basket cases together”. I think my friend may be in for another round of lessons on not being able to control other people.
And another week of school transport not as officially scheduled. I didn’t have to deal with anything on Tuesday.
I think it is about time to go back to my summer amounts of water. I’ve kind of gotten out of the habit — I’m only drinking about half the amount I was, and my edema has shown up again.
And I have decided that probably the best way to get back into the habit of walking is to do a short one (roughly half a mile) right after I return from dropping my grandson off. That means, get out of the car and head out.
We are having rain. This is normal for the time of year here. I think I’m surprised by anything being normal right now.
