Here is another shinning example of the fake remorse from a convicted Jan 6th insurrectionist. You may remember Adam Johnson of Florida, also known as “Lectern Guy” because he STOLE Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lecturn and posed for a picture! Well, Adam Johnson decided to throw himself a “Going Away To Prison!” party at a local restaurant.
Here is the link to his Facebook announcement.
You will notice the date and what he has to say about his going to prison.
“Come help me celebrate my last Friday of freedom before I go to prison for the lamest charge in history.”
The lamest charge in history. He picked April Fools’ Day for the party, so I’m sure he is thinking this is just a joke. But it appears Johnson really planned a celebration at Caddy’s Bradenton, a waterfront restaurant near Tampa, FL. And the owner’s of this establishment had to announce they were cancelling the event.
A Florida restaurant canceled a "going to prison" party for a Jan. 6 rioter who was photographed with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's lectern after the owner said that it was drawing too much attention.
News Channel 8 reported that Caddy's Bradenton, a waterfront restaurant located outside of Tampa, Fla., canceled the April 1 event for Adam Johnson, who was sentenced to 75 days in prison last month for breaking into the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 insurrection.
The restaurant manager for Caddy's Bradenton told the outlet he canceled the event, which had been advertised as a "going to prison" party, because of the attention it was drawing.
It’s possible that this was all an April Fools’ Day joke, but I do not think so. Why would any restaurant want to bring possible negative attention to itself? “Yeah, we at Caddy Bradenton’s believe Jan 6th was a big joke! Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!” “Stealing property is always hilarious! Please help yourself to our silverwear! While you are at it, help yourself to our money at the cash register!” Some restaurant owners are politically stupid, but most businesses want to draw in as many customers as possible. Embracing criminality might not sit well with all customers.
But dear old Adam Johnson thinks this is a big old joke.
Johnson was apologetic, and his attorneys noted that he began cooperating fully with federal agents as soon as he was arrested on Jan. 8, although he had destroyed his photos and social media accounts by then. He told the judge he knew that if he had committed similar acts in other countries, “I’d be on a firing wall, not before you.” He acknowledged the riot “was violent.”
“There were things there that happened that should never have happened,” Johnson said. “I’m ashamed to have been a part of it.”
Johnson, 37, of Bradenton, Fla., is a stay-at-home father of five boys between the ages of 6 and 14, according to court records, married to a medical doctor. He flew to D.C. on Jan. 5 of last year and participated in a rally that night where he was captured by a Washington Post videographer yelling expletive-laden comments that Walton interpreted to mean that Johnson did not believe President Biden was legitimately elected.
Walton said Johnson could have turned around and gone home after that rally, in which he posted a photo of himself on Facebook with the caption, “Riot!!!” But he did not.
Instead, after President Donald Trump’s morning “Stop the Steal” rally on the Ellipse on Jan. 6, Johnson learned of the mob assaulting the Capitol and sprinted to join in, prosecutors said. He wound up spending 35 minutes inside the Capitol, and it was his actions in addition to parading with Pelosi’s lectern that gave Walton and the prosecutors greater concern.
But after his “boo hoo hoo” routine, he’s out and about mocking the sentence he received.
You cannot trust any of these insurrectionist assholes. They will say anything to avoid time in jail, then go out and make jokes about their actions.
