Greetings from the Magnolia State. Between rain storms of last week, Hay seed and I got a bit of work done. It ain’t much, but it’s better than nothing. After the pause, I’ll show some photos.
Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.
This is a post where you can come to share what’s on your mind and stay for the expansion (and often music). The diarist is on independent time (a schedule of their own) and gets to take a nap when he/she needs, or may just wander off and show up again later. So you know, it's a feature, not a bug.

The East end of our client’s house had a gnarly old gable vent. This is what it used to look like.
We pried out the old thing and framed in the hole to accept the new vent.
This is before the piece is primed. We will be ready for final whole house painting after that stage of construction.
This work will be the mirrored on the other end of the house. That will be for a better weather day. In the mean time, let’s listen to some tunes.
HA! The song is titled for my adopted home but the lyrics are about my native land. Speaking of native land, a song from my ancestral land.
Finally, a tune from a point of view Hay seed and I know but rarely adhere to.
Let’s see where the day will take us.
