We’ve had a busy few weeks on the campaign trail visiting with Missourians from all across the state. But while I have a moment today, I wanted to share just a few of my favorite pictures from our stops along the way:
This weekend I hosted a town hall in Springfield with Fred Wellman. Workers, entrepreneurs, farmers — everyday people are tired of corrupt politicians and oligarchs calling the shots. They're fired up about fundamentally changing who has power in our country.
My friend Mayor Robinson spent the day showing me the damaged water treatment plant down in Hayti Heights that their town can’t afford to repair. Our country spent trillions of dollars on war and nation-building overseas when we should have been investing that money into places like Hayti Heights.
In Willard, the Tucker family visited with me about how land consolidation from Big Ag giants like China’s Smithfield is raising prices, polluting our land, and tearing up rural communities. They made it clear: We’ve got to take our land back from these multinational corporations.
I stood with Starbucks workers in both Kansas City and Bridgeton leading the fight for good jobs and wages. Protecting workers’ fundamental right to organize and standing in solidarity is exactly how everyday people can take back power in our country.
One of my favorite events yet was in Florissant with Councilwoman Shalonda Webb. All evening, we visited with everyday people who know it’s time to end pointless forever wars and “nation building” overseas and finally Nation Build America. I was also thrilled to accept Councilwoman Webb’s endorsement!
I had a blast with IBEW Local 453 who taught me a few things about bending pipe. They know better than most about why we need to make sh*t in America again — and that investing in production here at home means more jobs, better livelihoods, and stronger communities.
Everyday people are driving this movement forward at every step of the way — and I’m so grateful to everybody who took the time to share their vision for Missouri with me.
We have a real shot to take back power for working people and flip Missouri’s open U.S. Senate seat this year, but only if we keep working together. Can I count on you to add a donation of $10 (or anything at all) so we can keep building this campaign and defeat the corrupt elites in this race?
