Welcome to what is the 1089th original profile here at “Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day”, where we’ll be discussing Mayra Flores, who back on March 1st, 2022, won the GOP Primary in a special election to be held on June 14th to potentially become the next U.S. House Representative for Texas’ 34th Congressional District, which is decidedly NOT a good thing, considering that she spent the past several years hyping the Qanon conspiracy theory, both on Instagram as well as Facebook, and she also was occasionally sharing Covid-19 misinformation.
Overall, she seems more determined to try to convince Hispanic Americans that the Republican Party isn’t incredibly racist or becoming a white nationalist bulwark, attempting to misinform whomever she can to execute “LEXIT” (which sounds more like an idea created by Superman’s nemesis), where Latinos all leave the Democratic Party en masse so they can vote Republican and have their rights stripped away by legislators like her who are bought by old white men. Most of the Latinos voicing their support from LEXIT, not surprisingly, are bots trying to trick actual people into following their lead off that cliff.
What doesn’t help her case is attacking measures to stop the spread of Covid-19, repeating fearmongering stories from other conservatives about violent migrants crossing the border (her husband is a border agent), ridiculous conspiracy theories about the Biden administration supposedly handing out free crack pipes, and like so many other Russophilic Republicans, is complaining about Ukraine getting aid from the United States against the Russian invasion. Oh, she’s also transphobic, taking time out of her schedule to grouse about transgender athlete Lia Thomas. Her campaign is being propped up financially by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, and Flores frequently re-tweets her benefactor, making no illusions about that.
This would probably be a good time for anyone to donate money to the campaign of Democratic candidate Vincente Gonzalez, because the last thing Washington, D.C. needs is someone like Mayra Flores added to the toxic loon stew that Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Matt Gaetz, and Lauren Boebert are jammed into a crockpot of.
