Flint Hills of Kansas. 3/22/22.
It is a dark, cool, very wet day as I write this. So, I’m inside by the fire going through the hundreds of photos I have taken during the most recent season.
Harriers are among my favorite raptors and this year was my most rewarding for capturing keepers of this magnificent bird. I put this abbreviated collection together, including a series shot much later than I usually see them remain here in this country. I have been trying to get out every day to find Harriers and document the latest sighting I get, praying a few remain as permanent breeding residents.
I hope you find these photo moments enjoyable as we look back over the recent six months season of Harrier photo hunting, all the way through to 3/21/22. I would also like to credit Jeff, Sagebrush, and 2n10 for pointing me toward some superior photo processing tools to work with.

Note from 4/3/22: Saw and photographed a pair of Flint Hills Harriers today.
I don’t know if you learned anything from this Harrier pic parade. I learned it is really, really, hard to pic a few favorites from hundreds of thumbnails, especially if you don’t have them tagged. LOL. I’m anxious to see what you find in your photo files and what you have to say about it.
