I had hoped to have at least a finished top to show today but no matter how hard I have tried, this damn thing is WONKY! Now, this photo shows it hanging on the design wall and it is not hanging straight witch adds to the wonky look of it but it isn’t this bad. I have taken it apart about 3 times and I never seem to get any nearer to having it work out. I am now taking it apart again and trying one more time. If this doesn’t work, I am just going to put it together wonky and live with it.
DK Quilt Guild is a place for quilters to gather, share ideas, projects, and to make the world a
better place, one quilt at a time. Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too.
Would you like to write a future DK Quilt Guild diary? We NEED writers! Your diary can be elaborate and full of photos, a simple story of your own quilting history or that of someone you love, a discussion of a current project or a technique you're learning, new adventures... You could post quilt retreat-day recipes (things like crockpot meals, so food appears without much attention from you)... We could do show and tell or open thread, also, but either way, we need diarists to host. It is EASY if you're willing to take the chance. Please join in! Please volunteer within the comments or you can send Pam from Calif a kosmail.
I took a workshop from a quilt artist who said she took something apart 3 times, and that was it! It either got made the way it was or it got sent off to a flea market.
I will take it back to 3 panels and start again with the connecting borders with the flange. I may cut it up into 12 in strips to keep it straight. We will see. But in the meantime, I am closing down shop and going for some ice cream. I need a break.
Have a good day all.
