This apparently happened about a week ago, but I haven’t seen anything about it here, and a search turned up no results, so…
A Black man was pulled over in Miami-Dade County by a motorcycle officer for not wearing his seat belt. Man was understandably nervous and couldn’t find his wallet initially, which annoyed the police officer who continually harrassed the motorist whose only “crime” was driving without his seat belt.
This is the conversation which ensued:
Officer: You're gonna give me your driver's license.
Give me your driver's license, registration and insurance.
If not, you will not be going to work today.
Simple thing, man. This is how you guys get killed out here, man. Registration and insurance.
Driver: What? Say that again?
Officer: My God.
Driver: Say that again.
Officer: All you have to do…
Driver: Say what you just said.
Officer: Registration and insurance. You don't wanna give 'em to me…
Driver: Why we get killed for? Okay, okay.
Officer: All you gotta—
Driver: Oh, you gonna be famous though. You gonna be famous. Look at him. That (inaudible-- mother?) pulled me over and threatened to ki-- to shoot me. Threatened to kill me.

Officer has been put on desk duty pending an investigation, but we all know how that is going to play out. Police union will demand that officer be reinstated, that the officer actually meant that people who drive without a seat belt get killed, and the police will go along with it because that’s what they do.
Police officer has not yet been identified as far as I can see, but he should be. Threatening a Black man with death for failure to produce license, registration and insurance in the officer’s made up allotted time is Squid Game stuff. Officer needs to be fired and never hired again as a law enforcement officer.
