From the opposite corner of Oceandiver’s generous bucket yesterday — I ain’t got much more than what I share day to day in comments - some pretty wildflower, some odd bug. The cover photo is a parasitic plant my son sent me yesterday . Yo Dad, you know what this is? I get a lot of those from kids & friends.
Or there was ph asking me about her tomatoes - the ones with black holes on the blossom end of her tomatoes. OK, never seen it but look up Blossom End Rot. Sent her a informative link to read but she decided washing with dish soap solved the issue of calcium deficiency brought on likely by too much rain and high humidity. But she feels resolved..
I spent an hour wandering the front meadow this morning, up the hill to the gate, and mostly pulling or chopping the basic weeds I might fight for years and never beat. Non-native weeds most would not know.
Highpoints are the many many Liatris getting kneehigh, the Piriqueta with first flower yesterday, and fall wildflowers like Chrysopsis, Agalinis, Symphyotrichum and of course the headhigh Goldenrod that my neighbors love to hate.
I like to think of each one of the Goldenrod as a middle finger to all sorts of neighbors and their earthly destructive ways. They dream of heaven, I nurture the earth.
