(Based on the events at the end of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and during Jurassic World Dominion.)
We’ve become all too familiar with the tragic events that occurred on Isla Nublar with the creation of Jurassic Park by John Hammond. We’re also dumbfounded by the fact that Simon Masrani didn’t learn from John Hammond by creating Jurassic World. However, those men couldn’t have done it without the help of geneticist Dr. Henry Wu.
Dr. Wu realized that he could bring back dinosaurs from extinction using the DNA found in insects trapped in amber for millions of years. Whether or not he should do it seems to have never crossed his mind. As much of a genius as he was, he still fell victim to ignorance, greed, and the thirst for scientific glory.
Keeping these prehistoric creatures contained was never really accomplished. After the terror that cemented the end of Jurassic World, Isla Nublar became populated with free-roaming dinosaurs. However, we learned in time that Isla Nublar had an active volcano on it, Mount Sibo.

Claire Dearing was deeply affected by the destruction of Jurassic World. Once she found out that Mount Sibo had become active, she saw the danger the dinosaurs were facing. Her passion led her to create a sanctuary where the remaining dinosaurs could live out their natural lives.
This was a controversial move. We all saw how dangerous many of these dinosaurs are. We saw the number of lives estimated to have been lost because of them. Many people thought we should leave the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar alone and let Mount Sibo decide their fate. Dinosaurs were facing their second extinction, but people like Claire, people like us, couldn’t accept that.
While Claire’s intentions were indeed noble, greedy humans once again took advantage of the situation only to make it worse. Many dinosaurs were secretly auctioned off at Lockwood Manor in California unbeknownst to the manor’s primary resident, Benjamin Lockwood. Many don’t know, but he worked with John Hammond to create InGen, the company behind the genetics of both Jurassic parks.
Once again the dinosaurs escaped, but this time on the U.S. mainland and it was nothing like the T-Rex that terrorized San Diego many years ago. This escape created the situation the world is in now where we are forced to co-exist with these once extinct creatures.
It’s a very scary world we live in today. There have been numerous attacks. Many have been recorded and can easily be seen online. Many people are afraid that these dinosaurs are going to be our own extinction. This will be the case if we don’t learn how to co-exist peacefully. If dinosaurs end up making us extinct, it’s our own fault and it’s just what we deserve.
Many are already calling for the extermination of all dinosaurs. This is understandable. People are reasonably afraid. However, the dinosaurs are here because of us, or those who created them. Humans and dinosaurs were never meant to live together. We’ve been separated by millions of years, but it’s as the famous Dr. Grant said, “you can't just suppress 65 million years of gut instinct.”
Because the dinosaurs are here by our own hands, we are responsible for them and we must accept responsibility for them. It is up to us to protect them. By protecting them, we protect ourselves. Each of these dinosaurs is now clearly an endangered species and we must treat them as such.
I don’t claim to have all the answers to this situation (or any at all for that matter), but I have a deep passion for them. Claire does, too, and we are not alone. Millions of people around the world are working to protect these dinosaurs, even the dangerous ones.
Unfortunately, many people are taking advantage of the situation. They are still capturing and selling dinosaurs on the black market, just as they were doing at Lockwood Manor. This activity is illegal and needs to be put to a stop!
We need volunteers and I’m asking for your help! Please do what you can to give a hand to those of us working so hard to protect these dinosaurs. Please, I beg of you, donate your time and money if you have it. Please write to your Congressional representatives and express your passion. We need to pressure them to put these dinosaurs on the endangered species list so that they can be protected.
While we are fighting illegal activity, we must be careful not to fall into the same trap. So, I ask you, if you’re out there helping, please be mindful of the law. If you see something suspicious contact your local law enforcement. Do not try to take on criminals on your own!
If you see any dinosaurs, please don’t hesitate to report the sighting to the Department of Fish and Wildlife. The DFW has set up multiple sanctuaries for these dinosaurs throughout the world. They are protecting them from poachers and keeping them off the black market.
Be safe out there! Save the dinosaurs!
