As the shrinking, shrieking minority of Wrong-Wingers gets louder and more vicious, one can be excused for thinking that everything is going downhill. But this turns out not to be the case. At all. We’re winning on everything. Not just a few bills passed, a shower of subpoenas, testimony, indictments, even convictions and sentences. Everything.
There is, and will be, screaming to endure, and bogus punditry, for a while longer, until it fades away. But that is Good News, because it is the clearest sign that we are winning.
It just takes time. Not the fifty years it often takes for new ideas to reach a majority and old ones to fade to a decided minority. We’re already there on every current issue. You can tell by the polls, the votes, and of course the screaming.
Good News Thursday: The Fifty-Year Rule in Politics
Just 90 some days until election day in November, and then two months of preparation—and screaming—until the next Congress meets and the Senate sets its new rules and hands out committee assignments.
Then, as I have previously pointed out, everything will try to happen at once. It will take a little while to sort that all out, and decide which of our hundreds of priorities should come ahead of others. Equally, the Wrong-Wingers will be screaming at each other over which of our tsunami of successes to scream loudest about.
Schadenfreudilicious.

DOJ on Wednesday unsealed charges against Shahram Poursafi, a member of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, with use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.

President Biden got to sign the bill approving NATO membership for Sweden and Finland recently (along with the CHIPS bill). That leaves approvals not yet provided from the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey.
Yesterday Biden signed the PACTS Act on helping veterans exposed to burn pits. He will sign the IRA ASAP, possibly over the weekend, since the House is scheduled to vote on it this morning. The MSM—and even Fox—have admitted that he had a good week, and maybe, just maybe his approval ratings will go up.
I remind you again that approval polling is 110% bogus, lumping together those who consider Biden to be a Socialist race traitor who is going far too far on everything, and those who consider that he doesn’t go nearly too far enough.
Clean energy and clean investments! Win-win. Even Republicans and Wrong-Wing economics rags have to pay attention to real money.

The biggest story on the front lines today—or rather, a very long distance behind them—continues to be the successful Ukrainian strike on the Novofedorivka airfield in Russian-held Crimea. The Ukrainian something, over 200 kilometers from the nearest Ukrainian positions, achieved two very spectacular booms in two different locations. Initial reports asserted that two distinct munitions dumps had gone up.
Plus a line of fighter planes parked together, seen in before and after satellite photos.

Chip fabs are coming to the U.S., but will there be enough skilled workers?
Intel, TSMC, Samsung and other global companies are all planning chip fabs in the U.S. in coming years. While billions of dollars will go for those high-tech plants and their equipment, questions remain how companies will fill the needed jobs.
There are currently about 102,000 semiconductor and circuit manufacturing employees in the U.S. New chip plants will each require thousands of workers. Samsung recently announced plans for a $17 billion chip plant in Texas to open in 2024 with 2,000 high tech jobs.
A new report estimates the U.S. will need to add 70,000 to 90,000 jobs to serve up to 20 domestic fabs in coming years for the most critical semiconductor applications. To meet that number, the U.S. needs to increase its workforce talent by 50%, according to Eightfold AI’s report.
More really good jobs, yes! And to you this is a problem?
I once wrote manuals for laser microscopes with robots for handling 200mm wafers. Now it is all 300 mm wafers, and there is a plan to go to 450 mm whenever the big makers agree to push ahead with it. My microscope was used to look for defects in chips down to a third of a micron. Stone-age technology, we say today, when we are at a fiftieth of a micron.
