If you don’t subscribe to the Stars and Stripes, I really encourage you to do so. It’s cheap, and the reporting is honest, accessible, and plain good. It honestly reports on military issues that really affect many more Americans that a person would originally think. The documentary called “The World’s Most Dangerous Paper Route” is also really good.
Like any decent news source, it has highlighted problems with the new abortion law. Since military women, and military-connected women don’t get a choice where to live, restrictive abortion laws are especially pernicious. Will a female soldier give up a prestigious base and a leg up on her career just to avoid bad abortion laws? Probably. I know of many military people of color who have done that.
The newest article describes Congressional testimony from military service members who have had to get an abortion, and their fears about other military members who may get pregnant.
