Well, well, well: Appeals court says House committee can obtain Trump's tax records
The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that the House Ways and Means Committee can obtain former President Trump's tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service.
Said the committee:
Trump will appeal, of course, but while the three justices he put on SCOTUS are right-wing Christian fanatics, they’re not his fanatics, as prior rulings over his claims of election fraud have made clear. So while nothing is certain with that crowd, it does look like Trump may finally have to show his taxes.
Now, this only means that Ways & Means gets to see them, not the general public.
The raid on his “beautiful” home is now followed by this. Ah, the perils of schadenfreude!

OK, this relates more to the Mar-A-Lago search than to the tax returns, but I expect the GOP will start screaming about the appellate court’s decision soon enough. In any case, it’s too delicious an observation to pass up:
By David Frum in The Atlantic:
The former president has discovered a new test of power: using his own misconduct to compel party leaders to rally to him.
That says it all!
