Breaking the law on camera. His own camera.
Anthime “Tim” Gionet is the far-right online troll, white supremacist asshat, and U.S. Capitol building insurrectionist known as Baked Alaska.” As you can see in the above image, Gionet filmed himself trespassing throughout the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021. He recorded himself speaking on camera live from Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. On top of all of that, Gionet wasn’t even supposed to be outside of his home state of Arizona at the time because he still faced assault charges in Scottsdale.
On Tuesday, POLITICO’s senior legal affairs reporter Kyle Cheney reported that Judge McFadden sentenced Gionet to 60 days in jail, two years of probation, and a $2,000 fine for his part in the Jan. 6 coup. According to Cheney, prosecutors were asking for 75 days in jail, while a probation office had recommended 45 days. The judge’s decision is a compromise between the two.
This comes months after Gionet blew up a plea deal he had almost finalized, seemingly with the hope of retaining some of his online subscriber base.
