Reading this story — www.dailykos.com/… — today about how the GOP is increasingly viewed as extremist made me think about a recent blog post about the necessity of embedding political messaging in an overarching ‘schema’: brianklaas.substack.com/…
The point of that post is that raw information requires an undergirding of emotional valence in order to be effective/persuasive. McCarthy’s stacking of powerful House committees w/ wackos has provided Dems w/ their messaging theme on a silver platter.
‘Extremists have taken control of the Republican party and they...’:
Want to play Russian roulette with the American economy by treating debt limit authorization as a hostage with a gun to their head...
Want to tell women where & when they can get an abortion. Or get birth control…
Tell us which books we can read...
Tell us whether or not we can get vaccinated...
Tell women what clothes they can wear...
Tell us what can be taught in our schools…
Tell us which people are allowed to vote…
Want us to become a gangster state like Russia…
Are shooting into the homes of their political opponents when they lose...
etc. etc. etc.
It’s a political demolition derby. Let’s make it stick.
