And while we laugh at Yoda-inspired quotes, we’re also missing the temperature of the Republican base on the Speaker elections.

Looking at this thread, the majority of the comments are that not having a functioning House of Representatives is a feature, not a bug.
The base doesn’t care about the optics. The base doesn’t care about not appearing as a functioning party, because they do not want a functioning government.
Democrats would have their shit together. We’re used to the deals getting done, and the nation’s business being attended to.
Republicans do not appear to care at all. When is the next debt ceiling vote? Because it could go on until then. Their base hates the government, and if they can disable 1/3 of it, so much the better.
