I'm 71 years old and diabetic. So, you can be sure I've paid attention to Covid precautions. I mask when I shop, I avoid crowds and I've been to exactly one movie in a theater in the past three years (at a weekday matinee, in a nearly empty theater, wearing a mask).
Much to my chagrin, I tested positive this morning. I've conferred with my physician and have prescriptions. I expect to be OK.
The symptoms right now are mostly like a bad cold. I'm taking it easy and isolating. My housemate is still testing negative.
Up until this morning, my attitude was I'm vaccinated and boosted, and I've avoided it for almost three years. I'm vigilant, but not worried.
But, in the end, it's coming for us all. There are no guarantees.
Keep being careful, people.
