Ukrainian attacks on strategic targets within Russia are happening with greater frequency, which may be due to improved Ukrainian drones and Russian air defense that just isn’t up to the task.
The drone apparently fell just short of the airport in Smolensk, which is about 300 km from the Ukrainian border.
Ukrainian drones also struck a helicopter base at Sochi on the Black Sea coast.
The drone looks like a Bayraktar TB2 but if so, it must have been launched from somewhere inside Russian-held territory.
This video shows the drone hitting its target.
The judges in the freestyle turret toss give this one a 9.5.
This is one of those Frankenguns Russia created by attaching a naval gun to an armored vehicle.
There was an announcement that British troops would be deployed to Ukraine to train Ukrainians. But the prime minister has thrown cold water on that by saying it won’t happen any time soon.
A lot of pro-Ukrainian accounts on Twitter have been practically hysterical about Ukraine funding not being included in the CR that Congress passed, believing that the US has somehow abandoned them.
Like this:
Granted it’s hard for Americans to understand all the technicalities and machinations in Congress, much less folks in Europe.
A glimmer of hope from Belarus?
You can tell they aren’t real because they forgot to paint tires on the wings.
Iran continues to resupply Russia.
The pro-Russian party beat the pro-Ukrainian party in parliamentary elections Saturday in Slovakia.
Slovakia now joins Hungary in the Pro-Russia bloc. If Rico follows through on his pro-Kremlin sentiment it will be time for NATO to reassess its policy of allowing countries that openly favor Russia to remain in the alliance. Slovaks are among the least supportive of the U.S. and the west in Eastern and Central Europe. If that’s their preference then there need to be consequences instead of pretending that everything is good.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine last February, Slovakia has been one of Kyiv’s staunchest allies. The two countries share a border, Slovakia was the first country to send air defenses to Ukraine and it welcomed tens of thousands of refugees.
But all that could change if Fico comes to power. The former prime minister makes no secret of his sympathies towards the Kremlin and has blamed “Ukrainian Nazis and fascists” for provoking Russia’s President Vladimir Putin into launching the invasion, repeating the false narrative Putin has used to justify his invasion.
Fico has called on the Slovak government to stop supplying weapons to Kyiv, and said that if he were to become prime minister, Slovakia would “not send another round of ammunition.” He is also opposed to Ukraine joining NATO.
You murder a child’s parents and then ask the child for forgiveness? That’s really f*cked up.
We were driving in the opposite lane. Almost as soon as we entered the stretch [of the Zhytomyr highway towards Kyiv - ed.] we heard shots. We stopped, the car was not moving. Maksym jumped out and started waving: "There are children here! Children!"
It was all in front of me. He fell down. Ksenia started to rattle. Once, twice. Hordii said: "Why is mom rattling?" I turned around and took Hordii. I put him [in the driver's seat] and covered him [with myself]. I got a bullet (points to his right forearm - ed.). They were shooting for a long time.
And then there was silence. I opened the door and there were Buryats with machine guns... I realized that they were Russians. I said immediately: "There are children here, don't shoot, please, there are children here."
And they: "The child first". Hordii went out, but I couldn't go out... I got out and saw Maksym's legs. I wanted to approach him, but [the Russian] did not let me pass. He said: "That's it! That's it!" I started saying, "Ksenia is here! Mom is behind!" He looked: "Cover the child's eyes". I covered Hordii's eyes, I had a shawl. And he took us in that direction (to the area behind the gas station - ed.).
There was a pit there. I asked him [the Russian who brought us]: "Are you serious now? Don't do that." And he said: "I'm sorry. My child is also six years old. I'm sorry." I thought they were going to shoot us.
But a Russian officer appeared behind the pit and shouted: "Who opened fire? Who shot? Who brought her here?" I started to tell him: "We were on our way, we evacuated, they are shooting... we have children...", "You had no identification marks". I said: "We had white ones... and [the inscription] 'children' both in front and behind".
Someone behind me said: "What are you going to do with them?" He looked me in the eye for so long, and then said: "Let them go."
They took us out through the gas station and we left with Hordii.Another Buryat took Hordii in his arms and asked, "What's your name?" "'Hordii'. "I'm sorry, I know you won't forgive me, but I'm sorry."
I think he was the one who shot and killed my parents.
Maybe these two idiots should be sent to the front to see just how cool that is.
They can live the glamorous life of a soldier.
Russian soldiers keep making these videos about how FUBAR things are, as if people back home will do something about it if only they know what’s going on. These guys are probably dead by now.
The men, counting 10 members plus 5 in support, were told to occupy a residential area in Klischiivka, where Ukrainian superiority was tenfold, in addition to firepower from Leopard tanks.
They added that in Klischiivka, Russians already lost 1000-1200 soldiers senselessly. This was necessary to enable positive reports on the news about Russian counterattacks in the area.
Recorded on 19 September, the video was meant to be released to the public if "something went wrong" with the men. Their fate is not known.
Kind of weird.
Spiderman fires an anti-tank round at the Green Goblin.
Gen. Elon Musk went to Ukraine to show them how it’s done. With no body armor and only a .50-caliber machine gun, he mowed down 1,000 Russian troops, clearing 10 kms of trenches, blowing top 12 tanks, shooting down 20 drones and a dozen Hind helicopters while also freeing 50 Ukrainian POWs. And he did it after running through acres of minefields.
