Good Morning
This week I have pictures of a cart (?) I made for this laser. The laser will mark each tube before bending them. The benders use air engravers by hand now!! This could help them. It is another process though, the boss thinks this can be done as the tubes are cut. They cut a tube & debur each tube then put them in a basket. The boss thinks the guy can then put in the laser before it goes in the basket. I know that won’t happen. There are two saw to cut the tubing, the boss thinks he can buy two of these. Pro Fab is packed already!!!
When this cart was in design stage in my head, they said there would be a head that expands for each size tube, that would be like 40 of these expanding heads. Then during construction the lead bender came up with a much better way to do it. One head, and 40 pieces that go on the head.
I don’t have a single picture of that!!
So
the door is for the computer which was going to be a desktop tower, now it’s a 8” x 8” x 2” computer!!
I was at the doctors office and notice the drawer for the keyboard, so I used that method for the cabinet. We don’t know what to call this!!! It’s on casters so it can be moved easy.
This is the best picture of the top drawer. the face is on a piano hinge.
This drawer has the expanding rings. there is 13 O.D. sizes. then there is 3 I.D. sizes. so each peg can hold 3 of those rings.
They keep asking me what they will use the other drawers for!!! LOL but this was started before they knew what they needed. And it will be near the tube grinding if it’s done how the boss wants. So if this had two drawers under that would have been open, or maybe a door. I had already built most of the drawers when the ring idea came up!
I had made the bottom panel to try and keep the grinding Debree out!
I have put a handle on it to move it, but no pictures.
This is waiting on the boss to decide how and when to paint it, It would be done if I had taken it to the powder coater, the boss has got cheap about painting/powder coating all of a sudden!!!
there is a tumbler base & parts in line to paint
2 of those bowls are out in the parking lot refurbished. the headers gouge the lining & had to get fixed.
I laugh about all this. I don’t have much to do right now. My mobility is decreasing daily!!! Jan 3rd I will get my first knee replaced. I am in agony 24/7!!!
My bench needs painted
My day will be spent working on the trailer!
The tie downs are why I took this picture. Never seen this done like this before. These are 3/4” Stainless round bar. I drilled holes and will weld them on both sides!!! I will also make Bungs & put 4 anchors for 3/4” stainless eye bolts. those bungs will be in holes that can be welded on both sides of the tubing.
