Not Afraid to Go There: Deep-Frying Your Turkey

This is a trivial diary.  It would just be a comment, but we can’t put a poll in a comment.  (Prolly messy if we could.)

I am wondering what experience people have had with deep-frying a turkey, typically for Thanksgiving?

It seems to usually involve a BIG pot with a LOT of oil, heated up over a propane stove or other heat source, usually (maybe always?) outside.
