Apologies for the slow start to this initiative.
To summarize the goal: Research suggests that a large group of potential voters are “double haters.” They dislike both Biden and Trump.
This group is roughly split between Biden and Trump. There is good news here. The research says that this group is largely unaware of what the Biden administration has done. Further, pollsters find that when informed of these accomplishments, a comparatively large percentage (by polling standards) do two things: Show approval and become more likely to vote for Biden.
The project at hand is a website and social media initiative aimed at trumpeting the things that Biden has done. The focus will be on swing states (the precise composition to be determined).
There are two steps that must be taken to succeed: Creating good editorial and finding a way to reach the target audience.
The first is pretty straight forward. I (hopefully, we) will present information about things such as adding millions of jobs, negotiating lower prescription costs, expanding broadband and so forth. There are plenty of good stories to tell. This will not be a contentious site. Our target audience probably is apolitical and turned off by partisan bickering. We’ll say that yes, Biden is old—but you are voting for a team and a set of principles, not one individual. We will state our case and let the chips fall where they may.
The second task — getting content in front of the intended audience — is a bit trickier. Actually, a lot trickier. Search engine optimization, as the name implies, is the art and science of getting Google, Bing and the other search engines to place the site on or close to the first page of its results. This is particularly difficult when the topic of site is the subject of much interest.
A couple of folks have joined the group so far. I am grateful. Any ideas from them or others — and offers to join the team — are appreciated.
