Youtube has now decided that using an ad blocker violates it's terms of service, and you will not be allowed to use the platform unless you disable or delete your ad blocker. Here is now to fix it:
.
1 - Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network). Many of them cost money, but there are a few free ones out there. With a VPN, your browsing habits cannot be tracked, and you cannot be targeted by either advertisers, spammers, or crooks.
.
2- How does this apply to Youtube? Youtube does not block people in India, Israel, and a few other nations, from watching videos while an ad blocker is installed. Set your VPN location to one of these nations, then continue to use Youtube as you always have, with your ad blocker enabled and without the frequent intrusive ads from Youtube, which constantly interrupt the videos you are attempting to watch. I have a VPN running, and have my location set to Israel. I have no problem watching Youtube videos with my ad blockers running.
.
3- Begin using Youtube alternatives as much as possible. Keep your VPN enabled, and only use Youtube as a last resort.
.
Bottom line is that Youtube has close to a monopoly on videos, but monopolies do not stay monopolies, as the Capitalist system will eventually produce competitors if that monopoly creates rules that are too onerous. The alternatives are out there. All you have to do is Google..... Wait, don't Google..... Youtube is OWNED BY GOOGLE (Conflict of interest here). Use Duck Duck Go, and search on "Youtube alternatives".
.
NOTE: There is nothing wrong with advertising, as long as it's reasonable. However, the amount and methods of Youtube's advertising is way beyond reasonable. Youtube can go take a hike, for all I care. They abuse, now they lose.
.
NOTE 2: I use Nord VPN. Paid 85 bucks for a three and a half year subscription. Atlas VPN and others have similar deals. Also, there are a number of free VPN services out there. While they do not have the flexibility as a paid VPN, they will also do the trick in blocking Youtube's attempt to make you "toe their line". To me, that line is a line in the sand, and they crossed it. Result? I win, and so can you.
.
NOTE 3: Oops, I ran out of notes.
