Not many, but they’re very silly, and it’s kind of fun deciding which ones won’t get me killed if I send them to who.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I have appointments upcoming for ear-cleaning, tooth-cleaning, and general checkup. All in January. I haven’t heard back about the eye appointment I requested. I think I will check on that tomorrow.
There’s a guy on Facebook that I’ve had recommended as somebody I might know for several years now. His is a pretty common name, though — he’s not the only one of that name that I know, though I thought it was likely he’s the one I grew up with. On Wednesday, his profile picture was changed — a picture of him, my mother and one of my brothers — yeah, that’s the one I grew up with.
It appears that however convoluted my mother’s estate might be (and don’t ask because I’ve never known or cared), her will was quite straightforward and probate is far enough along (it may be entirely done — again, I don’t know or really care) that her financial advisor can start releasing money to her heirs. In fact, the final 2023 distribution from her IRA has to go out next week.
I don’t have an IRA, I have an IAP, which gives me around $330 a month since I took the 20-year distribution option. It took five years for the account to go below the balance I started with, so I suspect I will get hit with a whopping payout in year 20. This is besides my pension and my SSA.
I don’t have long-term care insurance, and I should probably get that; but it can wait a while.
This subject has come up before, I know: I’m one of those people who know what family members like, but not what they have. After my chiropractic appointment, I went to Blick Art Supply (which has a store close to my chiropractor) and bought the grandkids each a gift card for art supplies.

Love you guys!
