For the last few days, I have been trying to figure out how I feel about the Trump smells conversation America has been having.
Sure, it is mean-spirited and a wee bit cruel—funny—but cruel.
Sure, there are more important topics we could focus on.
Sure, some people suffer from incontinence-related disorders…
Regarding the “there are bigger fish to fry” argument, I have always thought folks can walk and chew gum simultaneously.
We can worry about wars abroad, the economy, and education and still point out that Trump stinks, metaphorically and literally.
But why should we—?
There, Horatio is the question.
I’ve heard both sides of the argument. One woman told a moving and touching story about how her brother suffered from incontinence late in life and was so embarrassed that he spent his last days away from people, although he had once been a vibrant, social person.
She legitimately opines that there are so many things we can take potshots at that are well within DJTs control, and we sink to his level by making fun of something he can’t.
On the other end, it is fair to point out that Trump enjoys tormenting others for things they can’t control—their sexuality, their country of origin, their nationality, their culture or race—and their gender. You can further make the case that Trump invited this disdain and turnabout is fair play.
I agree, but I was kind of heading into the camp of focusing on other odious aspects of who he is, not how he smells—his policies, his racism, and sexism, his propensity for violence, his plans to become a dictator. His vile eugenic-based politics…
That is, until Tik Tok Influencer @bestofajack04 tossed his two cents into the ring, and not only was my mind blown, it was utterly changed.
Trump kicked out of a restaurant for his odor in the 80s
According to the TikToker, Trump was thrown out on his ass after several patrons at Keen’s Steakhouse complained about his stench in the early 80s.
The video below goes into the gory details:
For those who can’t access the video—Meidas Touch Network gives us the low down here:
On Tuesday, TikTok user @bestofajack04 eagerly recounted an alleged firsthand experience in which he claims Donald Trump was kicked out of a Manhattan steakhouse in the 80s after multiple tables complained about his body odor.
“Years ago I posted about Trump being kicked out of Keens Steakhouse in Manhattan, where I was eating with my father in 1983, because his smell was so offensive,” the TikToker alleged.
The TikToker said he felt inspired to share his story once again after former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger and others made similar claims.
“This wasn’t an elderly thing – it was 1983. I wouldn’t make fun of Trump today if it was an elderly thing. That’s not what we do on the left. It happens to elderly people. Trump wasn’t elderly,” he continued.
This part changed my perspective: “This wasn’t an elderly thing – it was 1983. I wouldn’t make fun of Trump today if it was an elderly thing.”
The stench is Trump’s narcissism on steroids
When Trump’s teams finally addressed Kinzinger’s claim that Trump stank to high heaven, they did not deny it, rather, they simply exclaimed, I know you are, but what am I!
Adam Kinzinger farted on live TV and is an unemployed fraud,” the spokesperson said in a statement to The Independent. “He has disgraced his country and disrespects everyone around him because he is a sad individual who is mad about how his miserable life has turned out.”
Sell us another one, Trump Co.
The most troubling thing about all this is that an entire party would sell its soul to a supposed strong man who doesn’t have the decency to ensure he doesn’t smell up the place wherever he goes. Barring an illness that Trump may or may not have (which is where some of my reservations persist), this could be yet another example of the disdain that Trump has for the rest of us.
Trump hates anything and everything
As a society, we subscribe to certain rules of behavior and among them—physical grooming. We try to ensure we take care of ourselves, not just for general hygiene but also for the people around us. As a point of feminine vanity, hells yeah Baby, I like to look good. Blame my parents, who didn’t have much, but when possible, they took great pride in putting their best foot forward wherever they went.
Dad was also a Leo and man; he loved to preen.
Trump’s stink alludes to the self-hatred he feels and the loathing he has for others. No one with this much hate inside of them, a hate and evil that literally seeps out of him, should have power over a pet rock, let alone an entire nation.
So, let’s endeavor to make our own stink in 2024 and eliminate this stain on democracy at the ballot box once and for all!
