Ecofeminist analysis explores the connections between women and nature in culture, economy, religion, politics, literature and iconography, and addresses the parallels between the oppression of nature and the oppression of women. These parallels include but are not limited to seeing women and nature as property, seeing men as the curators of culture and women as the curators of nature, and how men dominate women and humans dominate nature. Ecofeminism emphasizes that both women and nature must be respected

Opinions
Muslim women
One piece of fabric, a thousand different views. To religious Muslims, the hijab is a symbol of piety and purity. To other Muslims and ex-Muslims, it represents conservative shackles.
.
I proudly wear a hijab. Forget the stereotypes –
it’s a sign of style and strength
.
Opposing views
Ex-Muslims of North America are using the hashtags #NoHijabDay and #FreeFromHijab to bring attention to the pressures behind wearing hijab.
World Hijab Day started in 2013 by Nazma Khan in recognition “of millions of Muslim women who choose to wear the hijab and life a life of modesty”. In solidarity, activists encouraged women to put on the hijab. Many public figures, like Asra Nomani and Maajid Nawaz, criticized Hijab Day as a conservative campaign. They accused it of giving the misleading idea that hijabs are always worn voluntarily.
Campaigners against the forced hijab have been organizing counter-protests.
In December of 2017, Iran erupted in protests to forced hijab laws. The iconic image of a woman waving her white hijab started a chain reaction of women protesting for their rights. Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad organized and unified these protesting voices with campaigns like My Stealthy Freedom and White Wednesdays and activists from around the world joined in. These movements led to tensions in Iran and the imprisonment of at least 29 activists, many of whom remain in prison.
Now, activists like Yasmine Mohammed, Ensaf Haider, and we at Ex-Muslims of North America are using the hashtags #NoHijabDay and #FreeFromHijab to bring attention to the pressures behind wearing hijab.

Native American Women:
The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) crisis:
MMIW is an epidemic of violence against Indigenous women in Canada, the United States, and Latin America;[1] notably those in the FNIM (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) and Native American communities.[2][3][4] Across Latin America, it is estimated that Indigenous women and girls are disproportionately the victims of femicide.[5] According to a report prepared by the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, representatives from Canada, Mexico, and the United States have resolved to work together as part of the North American Working Group on Violence Against Indigenous Women and Girls.[1] A mass movement in the US and Canada works to raise awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) through organizing marches; building databases of the missing; holding local community, city council, and tribal council meetings; and conducting domestic violence trainings and other informational sessions for police.en.m.wikipedia.org/…

From KQED 'A Legacy of Slavery': For Domestic Workers, California's New Safety Guidelines Are Long Overdue, Say Advocates...Under state labor law, employers of domestic service workers [have not had] to provide equipment or other conditions for a safe workplace, as is the case in other industries ... because household domestic service is not legally considered a form of “employment” — a remnant of slavery and sexist policies, according to historians, affecting an estimated more than 358,000 people, most of whom are immigrant women of color.
Now, California has issued new voluntary industry guidelines ... to prevent injuries and illness. Worker advocates say it’s a critical step to eventually end [workplace regulation] exclusion of cleaners, nannies, home care aides and day laborers — who work in over 2 million California households. The safety guidance, published on Jan. 20, is the first in the nation to specifically cover the home as a workplace, say occupational health and safety experts.
“We are recognizing paid household labor as work worthy of protections, which is very historic,” said Eileen Boris, an author of several history books on home caregivers and other domestic workers....

From Chatham House Latin America’s anti-femicide crusades need help "Women rose up against gender-based violence in 2015, but have struggled since the pandemic – the legislation they inspired needs enforcing, writes Natalia Gherardi" in a brief history of the movement ignited in 2015 by news of violent murders of women by their partners across Argentina, the reaction of a cadre of women journalists and public demonstrations across the country, with unprecedented response in the form of a draft of a national action plan on gender-based violence, the Supreme Court starting to gather statistics on femicides, creation of a prosecution unit specializing in gender-based violence, Argentine feminists emerging as among the most relevant political actors, the National Campaign for the Right to Abortion --the green scarf as its symbol-- successfully bringing the issue to the National Congress and sparking the ‘green wave’ movement throughout Latin America, politicians finally acknowledging that voters did care about gender-sensitive issues. In the past two decades, nearly 20 Latin American countries have passed laws imposing the strongest punishments for femicide, banishing gender-stereotyping in judicial proceedings, and implementing international human rights standards in the investigation, prosecution and punishment of these crimes.
...But little progress has been made in keeping Argentinian women safe from violence and murder at the hands of partners or family members. ...[As a whole, the Americas] have the second highest rate of intimate partner/family-related killings per 100,000 female population at 1.4, just behind Africa at 2.5....
