In WAYR?, I note what I’m reading and comment...you note what you are reading and comment. Occasionally, I may add a section or a link related to books…
I am reading:
Einstein: His Life and Universe by Walter Isaacson - Einstein teaches and moves from Prague to Zurich to Berlin. He’s concentrated on the General Theory of Relativity, which gives him a distraction from his failing marriage and the First Word War. He begins to become politically active during the war and will remain so for the rest of his life. Also...Einstein is not (and never really was) a solitary genius; he relies on his friendships and colleagues for some of the inspiration especially in this 1910-1917-ish period.
Patricia Highsmith: Her Diaries and Notebooks: 1941-1995 by Patricia Highsmith and Anna von Planta- Going through 1955 now as Highsmith ceases to write in her diaries because of her nosy lover...she will do so for a few years.
